This 19th century glass is not a piece that you see often and especially in such good shape. It is a hand blown gemel or oil and vinegar cruet in a Wrythen twist manner. It has a cut and polished pontil base and has no damage or repair. There is an old pot stone inclusion in the foot near the edge. It is not a bruise or damage but an impurity in the molten glass as it was formed. Measures 10 1/4 inches high. This piece was a difficult process to make with so many pieces of glass that had to be blown and joined together without breaking while formed. Anytime you add hot glass to a cooler piece, it was liable to crack so it really took a skilled glassblower to form this piece. PG39
