Huge Redware Crock Slip-Decorated and Signed

This is a huge hand thrown or wheel turned redware crock with a great slip decoration of a floral basket on both the front and back. It is in exceptional condition and has all indications of being an earlier piece of redware but I am not sure what the age is. It is marked by the maker on the base and the floral decoration is beautifully done with quite a bit of skill. The slip is quite elaborate and is an actually pottery slip, not an enamel and it has a lovely deep orange pumpkin glaze.. No damage or repair and measures 20" high. The crock is pictured with a redware jug to give you a perspective of it's size but the jug Does Not come with it - just for comparison! PG6
