Very good condition Arts and Crafts or Art Nouveau period desk or boudoir table lamp with a reverse painted shade that has a cracked ice or glue chip surface finish. This dates to the early 1900's and is not signed but Handel quality and style. The base is cast zinc with a patented socket and shade rest. The harp is attached to the socket cover. This is a nice example of a period lamp with a reverse painted shade in all original condition. This has been rewired and is a very nice example of the Arts and Crafts or Art Nouveau period - early 1900's. The shade is not signed but the flowers and butterflies are very nicely painted, and it has a cracked ice or glue chip surface. I believe that this is similar to Carl Paffe floral designs for Handel. The cracked ice or glue chip surface is a type of finish that was usually done by the better lamp companies because of the work involved and the painted design is fired on so will not wear off. It is a 7 1/2" diameter shade, and the total height is 13 1/2".
